A vision and a Plan make life easier. Did you know that success comes when we stop talking about it but instead do something that will push success in our direction? One of the ways success can be ours is to make ourselves valuable. It is as simple as that. Once you are valuable, people automatically gravitate towards you, or that thing you have which they need, think about when a man finds a wife…
A great way of increasing your value and attracting those who need you is by asking yourself, ‘if someone had to think about something that reminds them of me, what would it be?’ Then develop your competence because of the answer; make sure that people will immediately identify and associate you with the answer. And be specific about the answer; the more specific you are, the easier it is to work on and strengthen that value.
Here are a few ways you can begin to create value and, by extension, your vision:
- A vision is not superficial; it is rock solid and speaks to who you are. When challenges arise, you must overcome them by rising above them. If the vision dies because of challenges, it was not your vision in the first place.
- As Myles Munroe puts it—‘ true vision is discovering something to die for, not live for. So when writing it, think about your legacy and not the here and now.
- Your hobbies should be related to your vision—what do you enjoy doing? Create your vision around that.
- Your friends, families, energy, priorities, life plans, attitude towards life, how you invest your resources should all drive the vision and cement it, not break it down.
- A strong vision will inspire your passion for life and everything connected to it. Not to say that your life will be a fairy tale, like red riding hood—happy and skipping to a tune constantly. Instead, you will realise that you must look beyond the challenges and get back to business. A strong vision keeps you motivated.
Here are a few ways that may help to begin writing your vision.
Before we start, I must share that your visions are the thoughts and dream that will not leave you and keeps coming back. It is the desire for you to do something that keeps coming back to you and will not stop until you act on it. So, pay attention to that recurring thought; it may be from God.
- Pray about your vision; ask God to make it clear. Spend time quietly meditating. You cannot receive an answer surrounded by noise, so quiet down and wait to hear from God.
- Write your desires on paper, think about all you would like to do before you die.
- Think about what makes you angry; not only think about it but write a solution for it.
In conclusion:
(Simplify all you have written down, remove the fluff, make it as pointed and concise as possible; as you simplify, the vision becomes distinct).
While you seek the answers, remember Proverbs 19:21 msg, which reads—We humans keep brainstorming options and plans, but God’s purpose prevails. Be willing to allow God’s will to drive whatever you do.
Your vision must be ‘captured’ as needed; 2 Corinthians 10:19 reads, “casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ. This verse means our vain thoughts need to be controlled and fully submitted to God’s word and his plans for our life. This will ensure that your vision has a purpose and that it’s not about you but the bigger picture of God’s plan.
So now that you have meditated, listened, and heard, you think you know the vision, you have brought it under subjection, and tested that it aligns with God’s word, it is time to document it.
Get all your points into one sentence, then summarize your life in that one sentence so that it will say who you are, and what you bring to the world. That one sentence is your entire life purpose. Identify with it, feel it, absorb all the emotions it carries with it, and when you are ready, commit to it.
It is time to tell the world; it is time to market the vision via whatever means is available to you. Make it plain and easy to understand. Let it shout—this is what I bring to the world, and this is what the world can expect from me.
Now that you are living your vision and purpose and living with more meaning, ensure that you evaluate yourself periodically to stay on track. We know the world has a lot of distractions, but remember your commitment to what you know your calling is, which is driven by your vision. Stay true, and you will live a life of meaning and purpose. That is what having a vision does, good luck with creating and executing your vision, allow it to drive everything you do. it is what will make life easier and a beautiful experience!
The greatest enemy of right is not wrong; it is good, preoccupation with a good thing is no substitute for the right thing. Satan will get us distracted doing good things, but not necessarily the right things! Know what is the right thing, stay focused and committed to what you are born to do; not everything is for you. Do not let people come into your life and change your vision. Learn from people but do not become them.
