‘Unapologetic Nepotism’ – God Favors His Children

Read Time: 3 minutes:

God loves me. He favors me. Where does my confidence come from? It comes from God’s Word. I know better than to boast about His favoritism towards me without proof but I will boldly say that I’m favored. It is ‘unapologetic nepotism!’

According to dictionary.com, nepotism is defined as ‘patronage bestowed or favoritism shown based on family relationship…’
I can back this up with receipts:

I’m in God’s Family

A healthy, natural family is something to be desired. Although I am blessed to have a wonderful family, I am fully aware that is not everyone’s story. However, you can still experience the love of an even better family – God’s Family. He chose us! What better validation than having a father who hand-picked us to take on the Family Name!

Knowing that I am part of God’s family assures me of safety and acceptance. God wants us to walk in all His gifts and promises and take pride in being His daughter. We are in His family, bought with the price of His dear son, Jesus. I am in God’s family – Daddy’s girl. You, too, are in God’s Family and Daddy’s girl.

John 1:12 (KJV) But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name…Galatians 4:7 (Read verses 4-7 KJV) Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ.

I’m God’s friend!

“Friendship is incredibly beneficial to us. A true friend provides us with a sense of security, support, and belonging. With a good friend, we can be our authentic selves without feeling ashamed or condemned. This is how it is with God. His friendship gives me hope, knowing He takes a special interest in me and my well-being. He also takes a special interest in you and your well-being.

“John 15:13-15 (KJV) Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends. Ye are my friends, if ye do whatsoever I command you. Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

I’m favored by God!

These are only snippets of receipts that prove I am favored. I know I’m not the only favored one, but God makes me feel like I am. Today, grab hold of God’s Word about His favor, it is a gift and blessing He gives His children. With His favor, we can surpass our natural abilities and live life to the fullest, achieving things that are humanly impossible to do otherwise. God’s favor, puts a supernatural stamp on us and brings us to the forefront, establishing a powerful impact that we could never achieve on our own.

Psalm 5:12 (KJV) For thou, Lord, wilt bless the righteous; with favor wilt thou compass him as with a shield.

Psalm 84:11 (KJV) For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace (favor) and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Ephesians 2:8-9 (KJV) For by grace (unmerited favor) are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God…

My Abba, Father, my Daddy, favors me. He also favors you. Embrace the nepotism and don’t apologize for it.
