How To Make A Statement Effortlessly- Personal Branding For The Driven Woman”
Know that wherever life finds you, you are always marketing and selling yourself. Showcasing Brand (insert full name here) and putting your best foot forward, positioning yourself, and making you memorable. The question is…are you really delivering the best brand persona possible?
The first question one must ask is who are you really?
So how we dress (what they can see) is important, but even more important are the things that remain unseen and that sisters allow us to answer the question—who are you? Are you a kind and thoughtful person? How do people feel about you? If you want to impact this world and for people to really notice you, it begins with having an honest conversation with yourself.
Memorably succeeding in this world begins with the inner you; talent and skills will get you so far, but what counts is being able to retain relationships, and frankly, that is dependent on who you are. It is a combination of those skills and talents along with the best inner you. Do people want to remain in your space? Then, make sure the inner you is the best you, that pulls them into your space and keeps them there.
The degree to which you like yourself is one of the main determinants in how successful you become in life, other ways to be memorable and make a statement effortlessly includes the following:
Tip #1—Wear One Color Outfits.
Do you have a presentation coming up or an important event that you need to make an impression at? Then consider wearing one color from head to toe (in a matter of speaking)? Once you do that, guaranteed without saying a word, you will be seen and remembered. Dressing in this manner also makes life easier for you because it eliminates the added stress of coordinating your outfit. It also gives you a finished and polished look.
Tip #2—Add A Statement Piece.
Transform a simple outfit to another level by adding a statement piece, and guess what it does not need to be expensive. Your statement piece could be a bag, an earring, or a necklace. Whatever it is, just have that one piece that gives you the wow effect, and you are on your way to being memorable. Don’t be afraid to be too much with that one item. Be memorable; the idea is to make them remember you!
Tip #3—Wear Colors that compliment your complexion.
If you are unsure of the color that compliments you, recall when you wore a particular color and received many compliments. That’s it wink. Wear colors that make you feel good about yourself, colors that you like, colors that will lift your spirit on days that feel overwhelming. This is one way of indirectly positioning you in an unforgettable stance. If you have difficulty wearing color, you need to find out why. In any event, please, do what makes you feel comfortable. Discomfort and being your best do not go hand in hand.
Tip #4—Clothing and Footwear must be appropriate
Women will sometimes hide a part of the body that they are not comfortable with. This they do by resorting to many things to include the wearing of baggy clothing or clothing that does not fit best. Do not do that! Find ways to look good even with flaws. Perhaps a belt cinched to accentuate a fab waistline, or the best thing might be to get your clothing altered by a professional seamstress or tailor. You can also wear the color black that is slimming. Clothing and footwear that is not comfortable will impact your confidence and how you show up. Do yourself a favor and ensure that you are doing the best for yourself. Added tip for footwear- consider buying a size up. You do not want to be at that fab affair looking all distressed.
Tip #5—Find a signature style and work it.
My signature style is a form-fitting straight dress. Do you know yours? As women, I believe we are in a time where we are looking for an easy and stress-free life—this might just be it. A signature style removes the headache of figuring out what to wear, especially if we have a last-minute, important meeting to attend that demands us to look and be our best. Do not think about what others may think because you have the same outfit in different colors. It is not their business anyway. One added tip. Do not buy because of trends or others’ expectations.
Tip #6—Show Up Looking Your Best.
Some of us think that if nothing major is happening, then it’s not worth the effort to look our best. Not so, dress every day like it’s your birthday; you never know when an opportunity to make a wow impression and seal a big deal will present itself. Do you want to be left out of such an opportunity? I did not think so. Dress for success every day and be prepared to take hold of everything life is sending your way. Dress representing what you do. Make people want to associate with you because of the way you show up consistently.
Tip #7—Always Be You.
If you want to make a statement outside of the physical you, what you wear etc, show up as yourself. Show up as the sensitive and caring human being who takes life seriously but in a way that is easy for all. Do not try to imitate another because they may seem successful, and have it all together, be yourself. Nothing is wrong with trying to improve on an area that enhances who you are. E.g. if you are not someone who smiles easily, then by all means change that about yourself. Smile more but make sure it is a genuine effort coming from you and not from somewhere or something else. One way to ensure that you are showing up as yourself is being able to say “I am proud of who I am”. Once you are, then rest assured you will show up as you.
In summary, the key is not only to look good and feel good in your clothing and your unique style but that you love yourself first in the midst of it all. When you present the total package, which includes the physical plus the INNER FABULOSITY, people will be attracted to you. You will be memorable effortlessly.
