Today I wondered why God would give us breasts and then make us afraid of them. Paranoid women everywhere, we are so afraid to feel any form of discomfort with our breast. Any sign of bumps, clumps or lumps and our hearts flutter. Why is it that we would be given this sensitive, nurturing and sensual part of our bodies to now be scared of what it might bring. Scared to the fact that we volunteer to remove them without actual evidence of danger.
Me, myself found a lump the size of a lemon and at first, (well for about 2hrs) felt afraid of the possibility that it could be cancerous.
Wow!
I pondered during that 2 hours, prayed and told God that if it was His will then so be it. After which I received the confidence to just go and find out what it could be and deal with whatever comes. Then guess what, I got me some good sleep right after.
I am not saying that every woman should be like me, but I decided that God was in charge and to me, His will must be done. The test came back negative and the lump disappeared after a couple of days.
Us women sometimes get such a ‘raw deal’. To lose one’s breast seems such a traumatic thing. Are we always having to ponder and wonder if we could be next. It seems almost natural these days to get cancer. What is happening? Should we really become afraid of our breasts and chop them off? However small or large I think most of us want to keep them.
