Simone Blackwood is a Trinidadian Gerontologist, who specializes in Dementia Care Strategies. She developed The Behavioral Approach to Dementia Care and has been working intimately with families, their aged parents and loved ones living with Dementia. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing, A diploma in Gerontology. She is also a certified dementia practitioner.
She is the Managing Director of the Global Seniorcare Institute and the president of the Caribbean Gerontological Association. She uses her platform.. The Caregivers Lounge to share daily tips and strategies to navigate the care-giving journey to support families that feel alone or burdened.
