20 Habits To Keep Us On Track Always

Read Time: 3 minutes:

“So many times I have promised myself that “this time” things will be different. It is like a love-hate relationship with myself when it comes to becoming a better version of myself. The desire is evident based on the writings, the dreams, and the realistic goals I pen every so often. But, something sometimes rears its ugly head and completely annihilates my good intentions for my life. Over time I realize that I am not alone and that unfortunately many of us exist. The ones with the good intentions but unable to stick to our good intention… HELP!

A woman’s cry

We see it every day, women singing a similar tune as above but we want to say to each woman who finds herself in this position “Do not knock yourself”.

Just keep going, never give up on the goals that you have set for yourself! Take baby steps we are big on that. Join support groups, or form your own. Problems get fixed when we recognize them and proactively seek to solve them. So there you go… form your own group and allow that kind of sisterhood and togetherness to help you achieve all of your intentions! But, please, never stop trying. It is in each revision, each failure, each defeat that success and good living come.

“Never give up.
It’s like breathing—once you quit, your flame dies letting total darkness extinguish every last gasp of hope. You can’t do that. You must continue taking in even the shallowest of breaths, continue putting forth even the smallest of efforts to sustain your dreams. Don’t ever, ever, ever give up.”
― Richelle E. Goodrich, Smile Anyway

We too are trying and so we want to share with you our  20 Habits To Keep Us On Track For 2020 that will most likely get us closer to our dreams, closer because frankly …

  1. Do the things you want and need to do today – why are you waiting, why deprive yourself of something that can change your mood, your energy? The world needs you at your best!
  2. Begin to appreciate people and forgive easily and accept and love each person for who they are – understand that black, white, whatever race we all have the same blood pumping through our veins. Everything in context but try as much as possible to get along. Live free of negative emotions and attachments.
  3. Do not engage in conversations that add no value; instead, talk about beauty, talk about the goodness of God, talk about thriving and not surviving.
  4. Take your financial health seriously – while money is not the key to happiness. Being financially sound helps!
  5. LOVE, compliment, encourage, support, and lift people as you go on your journey.
  6. Pray hard – the enemy is like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour. Protect yourself. 1 Peter 5:8.
  7. Choose the right thing always, and HAVE INTEGRITY.
  8. Speak your truth even if it makes you unpopular and as long as you are not intentionally hurting anyone. Don’t be afraid to stand up for your righteousness – there are individuals at large who will want to discredit you. Speak up for yourself, and counteract their intentions!
  9. Give generously.
  10. Have compassion and empathy, we are all going through something.
  11. Eat cleaner – create balance in how you eat, there is a lot of information on the net about this. Take the time and do the research. You will thank you!
  12. Exercise more “Exercise gives you endorphins. Endorphins make you happy. Happy people just don’t shoot their husbands,” Elle says confidently (Legally Blond movie).
  13. Take a walk and observe nature or quietly sit – you may find the thing you are looking for.
  14. Journal more, there is power & freedom in writing out your thoughts!
  15. Drink lots of water especially 2 glasses on waking up.
  16. Be quiet for an hour each day. You deserve that time away from the noise and distractions that come with living in the world.
  17. Spend time with old and young people specifically to learn. The old impart wisdom gained over the years and the young teach us to go after what we want without reservations or hesitations.
  18.  Learn something new every day through reading, or a conversation where you listen (no talking), and add a podcast to your list…
  19. Become more aware of the need to take care of yourself – this will build you and allow you to be your best!
  20. Take your health seriously – do your checkups. A lot of health issues could be avoided and managed better once we are aware of what’s happening with our health. Look into obtaining a rounded Insurance coverage also.

You only have one life to live and you owe it to yourself and your creator – God, to live it well. Anything else is wasted. So what do you say? Will you join in on these habits? Maybe you have your list, maybe you need to make one… however, do what you must and take baby steps. Let us keep trying until our list becomes a part of us.

MAKE THE DECISION. We are cheering you on!!!
