In the attitude of silence the soul finds the path in a clearer light, and what is elusive and deceptive resolves itself into crystal clearness. Our life is a long and arduous quest after Truth.
Mahatma Gandhi
We often hear that each of us is unique, possessing a special gift that no one else has, and that our contributions are unlike any other. I’ve said it many times myself, but recently, I’ve started to reflect on these phrases and question how effectively we communicate their true meaning to others. Have we been responsible in doing so, or have we unintentionally sent others searching for something elusive?
The more I reflect on it, the more I realize the importance of being clear and relatable in how we communicate our message. A thought expressed through a cliché can lead people on a search for something elusive—something they may never truly find. The truth is, no one needs to search for purpose or strive to uncover their uniqueness in this world. Our message should be simple: we are individuals, created to live, experience, and navigate life in a way that only we can. Instead of watching and copying others, we should focus on identifying what we genuinely enjoy, what resonates with our inner spirit, and what comes naturally to us—then pursue that. There’s nothing elusive about it.
Life is not complicated, and there is nothing to search for. Everything we often perceive as elusive is already within us. It’s simply a matter of living each day with intention, striving toward our sense of completeness, and finding satisfaction in knowing that we’ve made a difference—whether in our own lives or in someone else’s. True fulfillment comes from understanding what makes us feel whole and pursuing it.
Completeness might mean finally treating yourself to that ice cream you’ve been avoiding, spending quality time with your kids, or visiting someone who has no one. It could mean leaving a job you dislike to pursue something you love—something that not only brings you joy but also rewards you financially, because that matters too. Or it could mean loving the job you have, finding self-gratification in meaningful work that feels anything but mundane.
There’s nothing elusive about any of this; fulfillment is simply about embracing what resonates with us and living it fully.
Living life is a verb, not a noun. We are unique, and it is not a complex theory that has to be pondered; unique is finding a way to be complete without having to want what others have or do what others do.

I could go on, but I believe you get the gist. None of us need to quit our jobs and embark on a pilgrimage in search of something elusive. Everything we need is already here—in the present, in each day we open our eyes.
Stop waiting for things to magically appear—they won’t. Instead, live from within, and recognize that the direction of your life is entirely in your hands. You are the only one who can give yourself permission to move forward and create the life you desire.
Remember, the power over most things in life lies within us. Every day, we have the choice to live with purpose and intention.
