QUIT?
But we’re not quitters who lose out. Oh, no! We’ll stay with it and survive, trusting all the way.
Hebrews 10:39
Do not quit! Hundreds of times I have watched people throw in the towel at the one-yard line while someone else comes along and makes a fortune by just going that extra yard.
E. Joseph Cossman
Today was a hard day and just when I felt like giving up and throwing in the towel, not wanting to move or to try anymore, I was reminded of this story I was told so many years ago of this beggar who was approaching cars in a long line of traffic.
There was a gentleman in his car in the line of traffic watching the beggar going from car window to car window, holding out his hand perhaps repeating the same story over and over. He watched him for some time and as the beggar got closer to him he decided he would help. He took out money ready to hand it over to the beggar only to see the beggar stop at the car right before him and walk away.
The beggar was apparently  once again unsuccessful and gave up. He gave up, walking away having been rejected too many times. If only the beggar had persevered a little longer he would have been rewarded. How many of us lose out as did the beggar? We gave up, thinking we have been trying too long without success. Constantly facing rejection, we lose our confidence, not wanting to continue. Give up because life knocks us around a bit more than we would like.
I encourage us all to not quit – hard as it may seem, persevere and see your race to the end. Do not walk away before your breakthrough.
DO NOT QUIT!!! IT REALLY ISN’T AN OPTION.
Over the course of the coming week: When faced with what might seem challenging – DO NOT QUIT . May we understand the importance of perseverance and that it could mean the difference between character building or mediocrity. It is the difference between winning or losing. Dancing a victorious dance or being sorry forever.
Today I felt the need to quit as I am sure many of us do at times, but I was given this wake-up call/reminder which I am thankful for. If you have felt this way recently or even today, let me remind you, let me encourage you DO NOT QUIT. Keep on keeping on…
In the meantime – Celebrate your decisions and trust your Spirit that all is well and that will be enough for you.
HAVE A BLESSED AND AMAZING WEEK.
